The owner of 1605 Wilma Lane is appearing before the Arlington Planning & Zoning Committee on 6/3/26 with a request to change the zoning to build 24 single-family homes on the land at this property. This property is located next to the triangle-shaped piece of land off of Green Oaks/Oakwood/Randol Mill.
While we do not oppose development, we do oppose it as presented, with the following four variances.
Variance #1 – Width of the lot to be 30 feet versus 50 feet. 30 feet is the depth of the end zone on a football field.
Variance #2 – Depth of the lot to be 85 feet versus 100 feet.
Variance #3 – The setback on the sides of the home to be 3 feet vs 5 feet. This means there will be a total of 6 feet between the homes. This also means that the home cannot be any wider than 24 feet (proposed 30 feet minus 6 feet). This is roughly the length of a bowling alley lane.
